Purchasing over the Internet from a supplier using a secure server, as we do, is actually one of the lowest risk transactions you can make. It is safer than presenting your card in a shop where numbers can be recorded. Your credit card number is not stored on our server, when you have filled your shopping cart and are ready to check out, you are transferred to the Westpac bank secure site where the transaction takes place.

When your information is transmitted over the Internet, it is protected from unauthorised access by a method called encryption. Encryption is a technique of coding the information being sent using random mathematical 'keys' so that only you and the bank's systems can readily unscramble the information. These keys are generated each time you enter the site and are destroyed when you log-out of your session.

The secure connection between your browser and the Similibooks system uses a technology called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). This is a well-respected technology developed by Netscape, Microsoft and RSA Inc that is supported by most browsers.

It means that:

• Only Similibooks sees your order;
• Only the Westpac bank sees the payment details (Similibooks doesn't see them)
• The details of your transaction are encrypted so that they can not be read as they travel over the internet by your Internet Service Provider or anyone else.
• You can place an order at any time of the day or night and receive real-time payment authorisation and confirmation for your order and Mastercard, Visa, Paymate or Paypal payment.

If you are still not comfortable using your credit card over the internet, you can select the Direct Deposit option in the shopping cart.  Alternatively please contact us by email, phone or fax and we can make alternative arrangements for you.  You can fax your details directly to our office; mail a cheque or postal order with your order; or pay by Direct Deposit to our account.  A Tax Invoice can be arranged prior to payment if you require it.  Your order will be set aside for you until your payment arrives.
