This very popular Materia Medica contains an alphabetical listing of virtually all of the remedies used in Homeopathic medicine detailing their specific symptoms in a schematic form. The Materia medica part of this book was compiled by William Boericke and includes descriptions of more than 1,000 remedies. Although the polychrests are dealt with in greater detail elsewhere, many of the other remedies in this book can only be found in larger works such as Clark’s “Dictionary” and Vermuelen’s works. The detailed repertory and herapeutic index were compiled by Williams’s brother Oscar and follows the Hahnemannian order. Included also is a list if remedies showing both their common names and pharmaceutical names, a section on Indian drugs, a table showing which remedies affect which side of the body, another table showing the relationship of remedies and a final section on rare and uncommon remedies. A comprehensive and useful book recommended by many colleges.
